The global BTS phenomenon caught the attention of audience members at the Billboard Music Awards 2019 on Wednesday night when they performed the hit single "Boy With Luv" accompanied by Halsey, their collaborator on Track.

The song is the first single of their album, Persona: card of the soul, which was released in April under their Big Hit Entertainment label.

BTS won the award for best social artist and best duo / group at the award ceremony.

In April, the South Korean pop group entered the story as the biggest video on YouTube: "Boy With Luv" became the most watched video clip on YouTube in 24 hours: it was watched 74.6 million times and won several Guinness records. Currently, the video has been viewed more than 240 million times.

Later in the month, BTS became the first k-pop band to perform as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live. With their signature choreography, they gave energetic performances of "Boy With Luv" and "Mic Drop".

In response to their mass appeal, the American toy maker Mattel unveils in September a collection of BTS dolls that is inspired by his video clip "Idol".

The group is currently on an international tour in the "Love Yourself: Speak Yourself" stadiums, to promote their Do you like: Tears album.

The 2019 Billboard Music Awards were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and aired on NBC. For the second consecutive year, the evening was hosted by Kelly Clarkson, a five-time BBMA nominee, who also played one medley during the show.
