"The Daily Show" had a little fun at the expense of Jussie Smollett on Friday.
Trevor Noah and his Comedy Central comedy team were so captivated by the "crazy" story of the "Empire" star accused of organizing his own attack that they decided he would make a big movie TV for life trailer to prove it.
"It sounds like a fake story, and we are," It sounds like the perfect movie of life, "said Noah," so why not make a little movie? "
As a birthday present for Noah, his creative team made a trailer of "Jussie's Lie," a fake backstage film showing how, they believe, the story of Smollett would have materialized.

"This fall, we will tell the story of a lie that has shaken a whole nation," said the announcer, before joining Jaboukie Young-White in the role of Smollett, sitting in his dressing room when he handed a wad of Empire notes "exec.
"What $ 60,000 I worked for three days this week," smiled Young-White's Smollett.
The "suit" responds: "Maybe you're not as important as you think." Smollett, of Young-White, throws the money on the ground and shouts: "It's not enough, it's just not enough."
And then he has a moment of light bulb. He cuts the letters of a magazine and sticks them on a note of threat … which reads wrongly: "I'm going to kill myself."

Not taken seriously by the studio's managers, the trailer says, "So he came up with a plan that would change his life forever."
And the trailer model continues with the hiring of its "assailants", explaining why bleach was the toxic liquid of choice and the end result of the alleged orchestration.
Smollett "maintains his innocence fiercely and solemnly," said a representative of the actor Thursday.
