Yesterday, the dismal folks at Westboro Baptist Church in Bonner Springs, Kansas, protested against the Foo Fighters, who were due to play later that night. But as worshipers staggered around a field holding up signs such as “Free Will is a Satanic Lie” and “No Peace for the Wicked”, they were treated to a surprise drive-by concert by none other than Dave. Grohl himself. And it was far more uplifting than any God-fearing Baptist sermon.

Standing in an open truck, blasting a groovy disco beat, Grohl had his own sermon to preach: “I have something to say. Because you know what? I like you. love everyone. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do? Can’t you love everyone? Because I think it’s about love. That’s what I think. I think we’re all about love. And you shouldn’t be You hate it. Do you know what you should do? You should dance!

He then went on to “You Should Be Dancing” by the Dee Gees, uh, the Bee Gees, and I would be agonized if I didn’t see a few picketers waving their signs and shaking their hips.
