June 15 (UPI) – No injuries were reported Saturday when a United Airlines plane from Denver skidded off a runway at the Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.
the The Federal Aviation Administration stated that the unified flight 627 had skidded off the left side of runway 22 left, at approximately 1300 hours. Saturday when he landed at the New Jersey hub.
"The first indications are that tires exploded on the left main landing gear during the landing of the aircraft and that the Boeing 757 veered off the left side of the roadway", said the FAA in a statement.
There were 166 passengers aboard the plane at the time of the occurrence, but no injuries were reported.
The airport warned of delays as the aircraft was towed from the runway. Officials tweeted the flight activity resumed shortly before 3 pm, but the delays were likely to last.
The FAA said investigators were being sent to the airport to investigate.
