EXCLUSIVE: Eddie Murphy's is one of the most anticipated world premieres at the Toronto Film Festival this year. Dolemite is my name, A long-time project of his passion about the late comedian Rudy Ray Moore, who created an alter ego named Dolemite and gained cult status as a star in the fight against kung fu. Humorist and perhaps the first to incorporate rap into his issue, Moore became a surprising star and a significant influence during the explosion of blaxploitation in the 1970s.

Bringing back to life a figure idolized by a younger generation of black comics, Murphy plays for the first time a real person. After seeing the movie, I can say he understood: it's a real return to the charisma of the screen that made Murphy a superstar. The film was directed by Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow) and written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, the team of writers with a penchant for quirky film biographical films as Ed Wood, The man on the moon and People against. Larry Flynt among other outings on the big screen.
