Watch Foo Fighters cover “You Should Be Dancing” from the Bee Gees

The Foo Fighters have shared a new performance video for their cover of “You Should Be Dancing” by the Bee Gees – you can watch their take on the disco classic below.

The cover clip precedes the Foos’ release of ‘Hail Satin’ – under their disco alter-ego the Dee Gees – on Friday July 17 for Record Store Day.

After previously performing the 1976 Bee Gees song on BBC Radio 2 in February and on their show at Madison Square Garden last month, the Foo Fighters – or Dee Gees – have now shared a full performance video for their rendition. of ‘You Should Be Dancing’.

The clip shows Dave Grohl and his band mates performing the disco track while being supported by a group of singers as flickering fluorescent lights further illuminate the show.

Speaking about why they chose to cover ‘You Should Be Dancing’ in February for BBC Radio 2, Grohl explained, “Someone said, ‘Hey, have you seen this documentary about the Bee Gees?’ And I was like the last person on earth – the only person who hadn’t seen it! So I was like, “Why don’t we just do a Bee Gees song?” And someone was just like , ‘OK… how do you want to do it ?!’ And I said, “Well let’s go like The Bee Gees. ‘

“We started recording the instrumental track and then I was like, ‘OK, well, I’m going to go out and sing it…’ and let me tell you: I never, never in my life sung like this, but it was the easiest song I have ever sung in my whole life!

Last week, Foo Fighters shared a short film titled The day the music came back, documenting the group’s recent New York concert at Madison Square Garden.
