Lady Gaga sang the national anthem at the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris today (January 20). After Harris was sworn in as Vice President, Jennifer Lopez sang a medley of “This Land Is Your Land” and “America the Beautiful”, to which she added a line from her 1999 single “Let’s Get Loud” . And after Biden’s inauguration speech, Garth Brooks sang “Amazing Grace”. Watch the performances of Gaga, Lopez and Brooks below.
“My intention is to recognize our past, to heal our present and to be passionate about a future where we work together with love,” Gaga tweeted earlier today. “I will sing in the hearts of all who live on this earth.”
A virtual parade is planned for today. Another inaugural event featuring Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake, and Ant Clemons, and more will take place tonight.
Gaga remained puzzled for Biden during the election campaign last November, delivering a speech and performing “Shallow” and “Yoü and I” in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2016, she sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl.
