Metallica shared a cover of the classic Alice In Chains track, “ Would? – watch the video below.

James Hetfield and co. performed the 1992 single at a virtual event that saw Alice In Chains receive the annual Founders Award from the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP).
Appearing in a split-screen format from their respective homes, Metallica delivered a stripped-down version of “ Will? Which appeared on AIC’s second full length album “ Dirt ” as well as Simple soundtrack.

“Hey, Alice In Chains!” Hetfield said after the performance. “Congratulations on the MoPOP Founders Award. We are happy to be part of your journey in life, and [it’s] really cool to have got to know you, tour with you and play music with you guys.
“You are greatly appreciated and thank you for continuing to play music and provide inspiration to new musicians around the world.”
Lars Ulrich added: “The boys, the guys, the brothers. I will support everything James just said: you are a true inspiration. Thank you for being brothers in arms, friends in arms. What do we do? Thirty years here. Much love to all of you from San Fransisco. “
Meanwhile, Ulrich credited the former Metallica therapist with saving the group. Phil Towle, who appeared in the group’s 2004 documentary Some kind of monster, was instrumental in guiding them through troubled times more than 15 years ago, according to the drummer.
