The next Nintendo Direct presentation is just minutes away. On May 15, Nintendo will broadcast another of its most popular TV feeds. However, rather than covering a wide variety of games, others will likely have to wait for E3 next month. This presentation will focus exclusively on one of the biggest Nintendo Switch this summer's Super Mario Maker 2. Here's when it starts and how to watch the event live.
According to Nintendo of America's official Twitter account, the Nintendo Direct stream will last about 15 minutes and will be "packed" with new details on the upcoming Mario level creator game. The broadcast must begin at 3 pm Pacific Time; you can find time zone conversions below. Nothing indicates that it is about anything other than Mario Maker 2, so you will probably have to hold your breath on the next Super Smash Bros character. You will be able to broadcast the presentation continuously from the usual places. Nintendo will broadcast live on its website, Twitch and YouTube channels. Super Mario Maker 2 was announced for the first time at the big Nintendo Direct in February. Just like the original Wii U / 3DS game, it allows players to create and share their own custom Super Mario levels with the help of a suite of assets and tools.
Nintendo has unveiled a handful of new customization options in the revelation trailer of the game. Among other things, players can now create slopes for Mario to slide, which opens up a whole host of possibilities for levels. Unlike previous entries, you can also adjust the scrolling direction of auto scroll levels. In addition, the resources of Super Mario 3D World are usable, joining the existing options of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 3, Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros.
The release date of Super Mario Maker 2 is set for June 28, just a few weeks after the end of the E3 2019. This is only one of the many big Switch games in the process of road this year. Nintendo also publishes Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Pokemon Sword and Shield, a new Animal Crossing and much more for the hybrid console in 2019.
