Tesla is currently improving its Full Self-Driving Beta software with new updates and we get a look at what it can do in the Early Access program.
Now we see a quick new video of the Tesla FSD Beta giving way to a pedestrian in an intersection that would give some humans a break.
Last month, Tesla began releasing its first full self-driving beta software update to a limited group of owners to test the functionality.
Over the past few weeks, the automaker has released software updates for the new feature with bug fixes and new features based on feedback from early beta testers.
These improvements are expected to lead to a larger version of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Beta software, which allows Tesla’s autopilot navigation feature to drive autonomously on city streets with driver supervision, in December, according to CEO Elon Musk.
In the meantime, we’re relying on videos from the owners of the Limited Release Early Access Program to see the performance of the beta.
In a new video from Chuck Cook, Tesla’s fully autonomous beta navigates a bizarre intersection with a stop and surrender on the other side.
Just as the vehicle entered the intersection, a pedestrian showed up on the other side and it looks like Tesla’s full beta to them on the other side:
This intersection would give many human drivers a break and it looks like Tesla’s full beta may have handled it well.
However, no other vehicle crossed the intersection, which would have increased the complexity of navigation.
In addition to the US market, Musk also recently announced that Tesla will release the next FSD Beta update in Canada and Norway.
This week, the CEO added that the first release in Canada could take place in December.
