Watch The Batman and Wonder Woman 1984 trailers

During the weekend, DC Comics owned what it called FanDome. The latest in a long line of exclusively online conventions, the presentations essentially filled the void created by the fact that there was no large Warner Bros. panel at Comic-Con International this year.

During the weekend’s events, DC released a slew of teasers and trailers for its upcoming films – most of which looked like drops of ice water in this summer’s superhero drought. Speaking of which, one of the biggest trailers released was for the 2017 blockbuster superhero sequel: Wonder woman. It’s a follow-up –Wonder Woman 1984– jump a few decades into the era of malls and Day-Glo, giving the resurrected Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) a fanny pack and Diana (Gal Gadot) the best anti-aging cream you can buy. (JK, she’s an Amazon warrior, she doesn’t age like mere mortals.) She also has Kristen Wiig’s Barbara / Cheetah in action. It sounds like a lot of fun and also promises to answer the question “Barbara, what did you do?”

Then: The batman. The latest Caped Crusader movie, starring Robert Pattinson, stars Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot / The Penguin (trust us , he’s there; he’s right behind a lot of makeup), and Paul Dano as the Riddler – and that sounds like a lot of fun. Plus, thanks to Pattinson’s liberal use of eye makeup, it looks a lot like The crow, until the soundtrack of the 1990s. It doesn’t matter. Were in.

During FanDome, DC also showed some teasers for The suicide squad and the long awaited (and long elaborated) cut of Zack Snyder Justice League. (You remember that one, right? The one that seemed like a myth until fans talked about it so much Warner Bros. decided to ask Snyder to do it for HBO Go? Yeah, that’s one thing. real now!) The suicide squad (not to be confused with the years 2016 Suicide Squad), there’s no actual trailer, but fans now have a teaser revealing the character and a montage of behind-the-scenes footage and interviews that are essentially a giant middle finger for director David Ayer on the anti-hero team from just four years ago.

Continuing the theme of curious scoring picks, the Snyder’s Cup trailer Justice League is set to Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” and frankly, that doesn’t make the movie look as much like a new cut from the 2017 movie as it does a whole different movie. Either way, it looks as flashy and dark as you might expect. See for yourself below.

Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled for October 2. The batman, The suicide squadand Snyder Justice League the cuts are all scheduled for 2021.
