Gearbox had teasing ads for weeks for PAX East, starting with the one that looked very much like Borderlands and wearing a "3". Just before the show started, the studio released a teaser for a Borderlands project. With the PAX East Gearbox sign coming up fast, we'll see what it means.

The Gearbox teasing series has often explicitly mentioned the PAX East ads. Some have clearly referred to Borderlands, while others have been more vague. Still others, like a tweet just showing a defective umbrella, are either extremely metaphorical or the marketing team pulls our collective legs.
However, the trailer seems to drop the first real clues of what Borderlands 3 might be. It shows several characters that could be new Vault Hunter designs or villains. The opening scene of Psychos pretending to adore an armed character, standing next to an angelic figure wearing an inverted Vault symbol, might suggest a direction for the story. We have known for some time now that a new border area is under development. The moment seems to have come to reveal it. We'll know soon enough, so come back and watch it with us
