The rest of us might be focused on the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 for the road, but there’s an even more intense version that just hit our shores. The 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is the first model to campaign in North America as part of the Carrera Cup, with the first deliveries starting this week.

These cars are now making their way to the teams, which means we’re starting to see videos of what these over-the-top machines look like in person. In one of 311RS Motorsport on YouTube, we see racers Leh Keen (yes, that Leh Keen) and Ryan Gates look over the cars they’ll be campaigning in the North American Carrera Cup’s first season.

They highlight the cross-shaped headlights that refer to the old glued lenses of old racing cars, as well as less obvious details like how the fender brackets are also designed to hold the rear trunk lid while you work on the engine. The brake bias can now be easily adjusted with a button inside, while the digital instrument panel provides a wealth of information. Forged carbon parts also reduce overall weight, with a total dry weight of just under 2,800 lbs. It has 510 horsepower to move that mass, so we’d expect the 911 GT3 Cup to be pretty brisk.
