The full trailer for Always be my maybe, the rom-com on which the Internet practically existed, has finally arrived. Actor Ali Wong plays Sasha Tran, a famous chef who returns to his hometown of San Francisco to open a new restaurant and quickly revive a relationship with his childhood friend Marcus, played by Randall Park. Two long-time friends, Park and Wong wrote the script together. Daniel Dae Kim plays Sasha's fiancee and John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves, is the type with which she bounces. The trailer ends with Sasha and his new boyfriend talking badly and Marcus stares in horror.

Wong recently said Vanity Fair that she chose to play a chef because she saw parallels between the food scene and the world of comedy. "The restaurant industry, like comedy, is a profession dominated by men," Wong said. "The hours are night. You always work weekends, so you can never go to a prenatal party or wedding. And in terms of voice, his leadership is to constantly innovate and to have a unique perspective. But at the same time, it does not matter if the food does not taste good. And none of this matters if the jokes are not funny. Wong says she based her character on Niki Nakayama, the Los Angeles-based Kaiseki superstar who starred in Chef's table.

Always be my maybe arrives on Netflix on May 31 and will also be available in some cinemas across the country this weekend. The film is directed by Nahnachka Khan, who worked with Wong and Park on the sitcom Boat fees. Watch the trailer above and stay tuned for more details on the release of the film in the coming weeks.
