ENGLEWOOD, Colorado – The day after Richard Sherman congratulated the two teams for their lack of physical conflict, the re-energized 49ers defense was found under the skin of the Broncos and the result was a secondary skirmish.

The 49ers' defense suffered a pretty big shock, which caused a tackle against a defeat and the temperament began to emerge. Marcell Harris flew across the field as a result of a seemingly blind scramble and both groups fought on the field for more than 30 seconds.

"Yes, they had a little fight there," Shanahan said. "Actually, I was not in the field, so I did not see much. By the time I got there, it was pretty much divided. I know some guys have been sent. We were told that none of our guys had punched us, so when I see the band, we'll see if they tell the truth. I hope they were there.
Although the 49ers defense may not have started the fight, it is much more confident this season.
"We are light years ahead of last year," Sherman said. "I think it's just the young guys who are veterans this year. I think the experience that a lot of guys who experienced a lot of difficulties last year gave them the confidence they needed to take the next steps.
"That's the reason we see our two to three in front of last year and our light years up front, especially with talent. Even when you miss Dee Ford and [Nick] Bosa at the moment, we are still playing, we have the wind in the sails, we always have the intensity. "
Sherman also explained how the addition of Kwon Alexander's high energy level had a positive impact on linebacker Fred Warner.
"It's huge," said Sherman. "You see it because they are tone regulators. They are in the middle, they are about all tackles. They can feel each pass playing at every race and when they bring in energy, I think it mimics the whole defense. The D-line feels it, the secondary feels it. Their intensity can change the day. "
