A robot is here to remind you that life is a pain.

Michael Reeves is a YouTuber with a filthy mouth that builds stupid and irreverent robots. His latest invention is a modded Roomba that screams horribly when it comes up against things.

Watching this cursed object in action is striking, disturbing and sometimes extremely relatable.

"Why would you build me so that my only existential goal is to suffer for the entertainment of others?" asks Roomba.

Reeves gives viewers a glimpse of his work inside Roomba. He explains that he gave Roomba a voice with touch sensor, a small computer and a Bluetooth speaker.

"When a collision is detected by the sensors, the sound of this Raspberry Pi is emitted by this Bluetooth speaker," Reeves said, before swearing profusely in the camera.

Reeves started the project after his viewers flooded his YouTube page with requests for screaming Roomba. He started with computer-generated voices to express Roomba's pain, but decided that he needed a human voice to add to the impression that this robot was suffering. Reeves asked his YouTubers friends to record and shout, which makes the robot extremely disturbing!

Some Twitter users had suggestions for other voices, such as a true British accent or Homer Simpson. Until Reeves modifies Roomba, it seems like we're stuck with a robot that is constantly in danger of death. Fun!
