NEW YORK (AP) – Police have announced that a person had attacked a statue of Sean "Diddy" Combs at the Madame Tussauds wax museum in New York, thus repelling the portrait of the rap impresario so strongly that he lost his head.

Investigators continued Monday to look for a suspect in this strange episode Saturday night.

Police said that a man entered the museum near Times Square around 8:45 pm, went to the statue and threw it to the ground. The head fell when the silhouette collapsed.

Madame Tussauds, New York, stated that the artists would repair the damage as quickly as possible in order to bring the figurine back into the calendar's reception hall.

Executive Director Tom Middleton noted that Madame Tussauds was not letting down her statues so that "guests could interact with respect" with them.

Combs attended the unveiling of his statue in 2009.
