Wayne Ellington hits back at Klay Thompson, Draymond Green after punches they took on Pistons’ Rodney McGruder

Klay Thompson may not be suitable for the Warriors this season, but that won’t stop him from taking photos. Thompson had strong words for Detroit’s Rodney McGruder after McGruder faced the Warriors bench immediately following Golden State’s 118-91 victory on Saturday night.

After the final honk, McGruder walked over and exchanged words with Juan Toscano-Anderson before being escorted by team staff. After tensions seemed to set in, Thompson, who had joined the Warriors show, couldn’t resist McGruder’s roasting.

“This guy could be out of the league soon, he’s probably crazy about that,” Thompson said. “He’s here trying to start something like he’s a good player or something. It’s like, brother, get out of here …”

Thompson was eventually interrupted by a member of the Warriors’ broadcast crew, who likely stepped in to stop Thompson from going too far or saying something he would come to regret.

After the game, Draymond Green also weighed in on the brief altercation between McGruder and Toscano-Anderson.

“When the [expletive] Has Rodney McGruder become the badass on the team? Green asked during his post-game press. I don’t know man, everybody in the league is tough these days. It’s crazy. I’ve seen a lot of tough guys this year. I don’t understand – and no one is doing anything. For example, if you really wanted to do something, you could have done it. [Expletive] over there talking shit like he’s the badass on the team. Get the hell out of here. ”

Wayne Ellington of Detroit has apparently heard all the talk and on Sunday fought back.

“First of all, I think it’s very unprofessional and certainly not classy for someone to attack Rodney’s professional career like she has been attacked,” Ellington told reporters on Sunday. “To be honest the guy over there, Juan, is the one who started it all. Rod is a man of respect, like me, and I felt like he was offended by everything the guy told me. said in the first half.

“For Draymond to sit up there and talk about all that crazy crazy stuff behind a mic, I think that’s fake badass, to be honest with you.”

No real punch may have been thrown, but it looks like everyone walked away from everything that happened feeling a little salty.
