Mike Myers and Dana Carvey take a walk down memory lane when they step back into the shoes of their iconic Wayne’s World characters in a new Super Bowl commercial.

In a ‘shameless celebrity cameo’, Cardi B injects her contagious personality alongside Wayne and Garth, as they seek to encourage viewers to eat local to support struggling restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic .

The former stars of Saturday Night Live now open up about their reunion while gushing about rapper Bodak Yellow.

True to the famous SNL skit and two feature films, the one-minute commercial opens with the theme song and is followed by the duo’s instruction to eat local.

“As a local access show, we want everyone to support local restaurants, but we’re never going to manipulate you like all of those other ads do,” they announce.

The ad then continues to emphasize the manipulative ‘eat local’ angle by including glamorous, windblown photos of the hosts holding mini-me babies as they say ‘never shamelessly rely on a celebrity cameo, ” as Cardi makes an appearance.

“ Yeah, eat local, ” she said with a typical Cardi attitude and intonation, before the trio winked at the ever-popular TikTok, changed their outfits, and changed their wardrobe.

Wayne and Garth end up dressing in Cardi’s forest green feathered dress, and she reappears in Myers’ outfit before trying on several times.

The Bronx, New York native also dons Garth’s blonde wig and flannel shirt as she drops the robot onscreen. They then all resume their place on the famous basement set of their public access television program.

“ Wayne’s World, local food, delicious weather, great, ” they shout in unison for the ending jam session, in an Uber Eats version of the theme song.

Cardi promoted the ad on her Instagram on Wednesday joking, “ WAG’s last special guest (Wayne and Garth) ?! I!’

Elaborating on the decision to partner with SNL and Uber Eats alumni, the hitmaker told People: “ You all know I love to eat, and right now we need to support our local restaurants, like The Griddle Cafe in Los Angeles. spots are struggling right now, and it’s up to us to EAT LOCAL! That’s why I teamed up with Uber Eats and my boys Wayne and Garth to help me out.

The online delivery platform has allocated $ 20 million to help struggling small businesses among the countless restaurants across the country that have been forced to completely shut down or lay off many workers since March 2020.

A 30-second ad during Super Bowl LV initially went on sale for $ 5.6 million, which was about the same as last year’s cost.

Super Bowl LV, which pits the Kansas City Chiefs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, kicks off Sunday, February 7 at 6:30 p.m. EST.
