White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed the Biden administration’s immigration policy on Friday in response to criticism from former President Donald Trump.
The former president in a statement said on Friday that he was making fun of Biden’s newly instituted immigration program, which includes measures designed to reverse controversial Trump-era policies.
Trump has said reversing his own policies has led to increased migration across the southern border.
“The spiraling border tsunami is crushing local communities, draining budgets, crowding hospitals and taking jobs away from US legal workers,” Trump said in a statement. “When I left office, we had reached the safest border in our country’s history. Under Biden, it will soon be worse, more dangerous and more out of control than ever. He violated his oath to uphold our Constitution. and enforce our laws. “

A reporter asked Psaki during his Friday briefing on criticism of Trump.
“We are not following our advice or that of former President Trump on immigration policy, which was not only inhumane but ineffective for the past four years,” Psaki said, according to a White House transcript.
Stephen Miller, a Trump-appointed official and responsible for the policy that led to the separation of children from their families at the border, also criticized the Biden administration.
“What we are seeing here is the cruelty and inhumanity of Joe Biden’s immigration policies,” Miller said in a Fox News interview last month.
