Best intelligent security product

Pole Ring Door View Cam Installation

Smart security may not be the most sexy product category of all time, but it certainly provides some peace of mind. In this survey, website and YouTube users agreed that: The Ring Door View camera is by far the most popular smart security product of 2019, garnering a massive two-thirds majority of the vote.

With the upcoming IFA 2019, we are sure to see many more new products for the smart home, including smart security announcements, so stay tuned for our IFA coverage to be up to date with all the latest versions.

Best intelligent light product

Philips dominates the space of intelligent light and for good reason, with some of the most user-friendly and practical products available. So it's not really a surprise to see the new Philips Hue Bluetooth bulbs take the lead in this survey. With 71% of the total vote, there was little room for uncertainty: if you want to get started in smart lighting, it is the light bulbs that our audience recommends you start.

The reason these new Philips Hue bulbs are so important is the presence of Bluetooth. This means that you no longer need to buy (or already own) the Hue Bridge hub you normally need to control them. With these new Bluetooth bulbs, you simply connect to the bulbs directly via the Philips Hue app on your phone. This is an extremely low entry barrier for those who wish to try smart lamps without committing to buy in the smart hub ecosystem.
