President Donald Trump on Friday sent another panicked tweet about the economic situation while many economists say the president's trade war has been responsible for the recent slowdown in growth.
"We do not have a tariff problem (we reign in bad and / or unfair players), we have a problem with the Fed," the president wrote. "They do not have a clue!"
The president also complained that the Federal Reserve has not done enough to weaken the dollar against other currencies.
"The euro is depreciating against the dollar" like crazy ", which gives them a considerable advantage in terms of exports and manufacturing … and the Fed does nothing !, complained the president.
The president has expressed concern about the state of the economy thanks to the inverted yield curve, which means that short-term US Treasury bonds offer higher rates of return than long-term bonds. Although a reverse yield curve does not guarantee a recession, it preceded each of the last seven recessions.
Instead of tackling his trade war with China, the president has criticized the Federal Reserve for doing nothing more to inject money directly into the economy by aggressively lowering interest rates. .
