We just never get another Titanfall, do we [Update]

See, Apex Legends is a good shooter, but Fall of the Titans 2 was one of the greatest first-person games of all time, so you can see why people weren’t quiet about wanting another entry in the series.

An example: although the studio recently did a very good Star wars game, and have to continue to support Apex Legends, and releasing a Medal of honor game, Respawn community guy Jason Garza was hosting a live stream the other day when a fan asked him about the future of, what else, but Fall of the Titans. Surprisingly, the fan got a fairly comprehensive response:

Don’t be hopeful, man. I have already said it. We have nothing in preparation. There is nothing. There is nothing there. We have too many other games in the works right now.

While I am extremely disappointed with the statement itself, I am also deeply sympathetic to the person whose job it is to answer this same fucking question every day.

I also appreciate the frankness. Too many people in this business would just laugh and change the subject, or say “we don’t have any plans yet”, or “although we appreciate our passion. Fall of the Titans fans, we are currently working on other projects, but who knows what the future holds!

Someone who says “no man, we’re way too busy for this old series” is refreshing. But also, to bring us back to the initial point of this post, very sad.

A few hours later Fall of the Titans 2Surprisingly fantastic single player campaign, there is a mission where everything revolves. The rules change, the story unfolds and the game shifts into high gear. This mission is called “Effects and Cause”, and it’s really good.
