Jurgen Klopp is confident that Liverpool will face Manchester City again in the Premier League next season after missing his first title in 29 years.
A 2-0 win over the Wolves, thanks to two goals from Sadio Mane, was not enough. City's 4-1 victory in Brighton allowed Pep Guardiola's team to finish just ahead of the Reds by one point.
While Klopp said that he could not promise the competition would be as intense and relentless as this season, he is looking forward to a new battle with City.

"As long as City retains the quality, the financial power and everything that goes on there, no other team will succeed easily. It's clear, "he said.
"As long as we are, we have to be very close to perfection to win the Premier League.
"I'm not saying we'll have 97 points next year or whatever, maybe it's not necessary, I do not know. We will come back.
"We used the base from last year, but we have made a big step forward, unbelievable, and there is still a little bit to come."

"We've taken incredibly big steps and I'm really expecting more, that's the truth.
"There are many things to come, many years, everything is about you and what you do with it, and that's what we do with it.
"People will tell us it's 30 or older (since Liverpool won the championship), but other clubs have bigger problems, to be honest.
"This team tried the first time, and I really think she did it awfully for the first time.
"This team is not a finished article. We will return 100%.
Liverpool finished third with a total of 97 points, with only 97 points this season and 100 points in the last campaign.
In Salah and Sadio Mane, goalkeeper Alisson Becker won the gold medal for 21 draws, a win against 21 for the first round. Ederson.

That was still not enough to get them through, but Klopp is extremely encouraged by what he's seen.
"It was an incredible season. I can read all the statistics, I can read all the numbers, it's really exceptional, "added the boss of the Reds.
"My thing is if you get a reward for the biggest jump in development I can remember, then the boys would get it.
"We used the base from last year, but we took a big step forward. Amazing – and there is more to come.
"If we are ready to take the next step, we will do the next step. That's the plan from tomorrow. "
