Weapon fired at Glenbrook Mall during combat, no shots were fired

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – The FWPD is investigating a situation that sparked great concern among shoppers at Glenbrook Square Mall on Friday afternoon.

FWPD says there was a brawl just after 3 p.m. inside the mall and one person pulled out a gun. Shots were originally reported to have been fired, but Fort Wayne Police now say that is not the case.

At this point, the police have not found any victims or suspects.

Police say they are evacuating the mall entirely to keep everyone safe.

Once completely evacuated, they will search for evidence and suspicious clues.

SWAT and FWPD negotiators are on site.

They ask the public to avoid the area.
