WEBBERS FALLS, Oklahoma –
The town of Webbers Falls is asking its residents to evacuate on Wednesday night because of loose barges along the Arkansas River leading to a dam.

That's the message they posted on Facebook starting at 8:49 pm:
Evacuate Webbers Falls immediately. The barges are loose and may hit the lock and dam 16. If the dam breaks, it will be catastrophic! Leave now !!

The barges passed under the bridge of Highway 62 and headed for the lock and the dam at Webbers Falls 16. News on 6 confirmed that Life Flight was flying over the situation trying to locate the barges so that the first responders know where they are and see their way. .

The town of Webbers Falls thinks that if the barges have an impact on the dam, it will be catastrophic. However, the lockmaster in charge of Lock and Dam 16 thinks the worst scenario would be to break a few doors.

The Chief of the Muskogee Police said that when he was missing the lock and dam 16, the barges would then touch the bridge of Interstate 40. The highway patrols of the Oklahoma are waiting to block traffic if this were to happen.
