Combine that with a defense that has allowed just 11.3 points per game this season (the 9th best statistical defense in the country) and this team could be as dangerous as it has ever been against Michigan.
If Michigan looks past Rutgers and sees itself as the favorites in this game as sportsbook seems to think, we might consider a game that ends closer than it should. These two teams are very similar in terms of personnel like a year ago when they faced off at Piscataway and the Rutgers team took Michigan in a triple OT before the Wolverines escaped.
That being said, Michigan has far superior talent, they have one of the most dynamic running back duos in the country and have made some significant changes to their coaching staff to ensure they eliminate even the mediocre conference teams. as Rutgers could be. Oklahoma may be ranked as the nation’s No.4 team, but make no mistake about it. Spencer Rattler wasn’t the Heisman superstar quarterback that so many people thought he would be. And this defense was supposed to be the best they’ve had in years, but it wasn’t either.
The Sooners had to survive against Tulane and Nebraska, two teams they played at home and should have blown up due to their stature. West Virginia is the best competition they’ve faced yet, and if the Sooners come out flat it won’t be as easy to beat one of the best teams in the Big 12 conference.
