Well, the Cubs and Cardinals will be heading for the All-Star break tied at 44-46 after all.
Weather has pushed back the Cubs-Cardinals final at Wrigley Field until September 24, when it will be played in a split doubles schedule.

There aren’t any real playoff implications given each team’s status, but I was delighted to see Trevor Williams back on the mound for his first start since returning from IL. I doubt he has enough time to really build his value before the trade deadline anyway, but this delay makes it even more difficult. In a hungry market to begin with, this is less than ideal, but again, not a big deal.
The All-Star break begins now.
