‘Wendy Williams: The Movie’ will revisit some of Williams’ most transformative career and personal life milestones
This week, while promoting his upcoming Lifetime biopic, Wendy williams made a stunning confession about an R&B singer who she said sexually assaulted her early in her career.
In his new film, Wendy Williams: The Movie, due out on January 30, the maven talk show will revisit some of the most transformative milestones, including her recovery from drug addiction and her divorce from her longtime husband, Kevin hunter.

But perhaps one of the most unexpected revelations is Williams’ never-told story of a date rape she says took place while she was spending time with the R&B singer. Sherrick, an artist from the 1980s.
During a panel promoting the biopic on Tuesday, the talk show host, 56, explained that she first met Sherrick in an interview.

“This stuff happens to girls all the time,” Williams noted. “And it has happened a lot, to a lot of our mothers, grandmothers, great-great-grandmothers and their great-great-grandmothers too.
Wendy Williams: The Movie stars Ciera Payton like Williams, with Morocco Omari playing Williams’ ex-husband, Hunter, whom she separated in 2019 after twenty years of marriage because he fathered a child with his mistress.
Despite the end of her headline-grabbing marriage, Williams told reporters she still had “no regrets” about the years she spent with her ex-husband.
“The life I’m living right now is my best life, and I have no guilt in saying it,” she said. “I do not regret having met Kevin, I do not regret having fallen in love, I do not regret staying with him during the 25 years, including 21 married.
“I love who I am, so I have no regrets,” she concluded.
