It turns out that the Wu-Tang clan was something to f – k with.
Wendy Williams revealed that she met the Wu Method rapper Man at some point in the 1990s – “the coke era” – during an interview with DJ Suss One that aired Thursday.
The topic came up semi-organically as Williams, 56, was discussing her past issues with cocaine, when she said, “I smoked a blunt with [Method Man] while I gave him a bath and it was a one night stand. (Williams repeatedly confuses Method Man and Redman and refers to Method Man as “the leader of the greatest band in the world,” which is unlikely to suit Wu-Tang RZA’s brain.)
“He will deny it – maybe not,” she added.
“It wasn’t in the movie,” interjected DJ Suss One, referring to Williams’ upcoming lifetime biopic, which has boosted his recent press tour.
Williams said the incident was excluded from the film because Method Man – née Clifford Smith, 49 – “is still very angry with me”, apparently, because of the incident.
Williams said she was at a club where the clan was partying and Method Man approached her, having previously appeared on her show. “I had weed but he would do better,” she added.
“I guess I flicked my eyes and shook my shoulders and said, you know, ‘Do you want to come?’ and he said ‘Yeah,’ ”Williams explained in the clip, which changed the pair’s names Thursday night on Twitter. The two were able to leave the club without anyone spotting them and headed to Williams’ penthouse in Jersey City, “where she bathed him in her hot tub and smoked more weed.”
“It was during the coca season,” she said, adding, “I don’t remember what he did, I’m not going to implicate him on it.
Page Six contacted Williams and Method Man for, ah, clarification? “Wendy Williams: The Movie” debuts Saturday on Lifetime.
