Wendy’s turns its Frosty into a cereal

The fast food chain is teaming up with Kellogg to make “Wendy’s Frosty Chocolatey Cereal,” a limited-edition item that turns the chocolatey taste of milkshake into cereal. It hits grocery store shelves in December for a suggested price of $ 3.99 and includes a coupon for a free Frosty from Wendy’s.

The cereal contains chunks of chocolate marshmallow that “mingle with bites of crispy, cocoa-coated round cereal.” Each spoonful “evokes the irresistible taste of Wendy’s Frosty,” according to a press release.

Wendy's Frosty Chocolatey Cereal will be available in December for a limited time.
Restaurants typically partner with consumer packaged goods companies to expand the brand’s presence and attract new fans. Cinnbon launched its very first line of frozen breakfasts in major stores and grocery stores last year. TGI Fridays and Boston Market also sell versions of their food in stores.
Wendy’s (MAGNIFYING GLASS) has previously partnered with Kellogg to expand the chain’s menu items from its locations to grocery store shelves. Pringles, which belongs to Kellogg (K), created a potato crunch based on the flavors of a Wendy’s spicy chicken sandwich. The company also sold Bacon Pringles.
Frosty was added to Wendy’s menus in the 1960s and continues to be popular. The treat comes in other versions, including the “Frosty-ccino,” a frosted, cold-brewed coffee-infused milkshake seen on its successful breakfast menu.
Cereal sales have seen a resurgence amid the pandemic as more people eat breakfast at home and seek out nostalgic brands.
