West Hollywood has issued a draconian emergency order requiring proof of vaccination before patrons can enter the “indoor portions” of restaurants, bars, gyms and other businesses in the city. Compliance will take place “as soon as possible, but no later than Oct. 11,” the city said.
The city of around 34,399 residents includes the Sunset Strip, which is home to many concert halls, and parts of Hollywood Boulevard, where movie premieres are regularly held. The city issued a press release on Friday outlining the new tenure, which comes a day after a similar call for mandatory vaccinations by President Joe Biden.
