West Texas dirt blows over Houston with high winds, bringing dusty and hazy conditions

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – High Friday winds that swept across southeastern Texas abated, but not before bringing dust from west Texas and other neighboring states.

While the air quality readings in the area are still generally in the moderate (healthy) range, you may see a haze in the sky this morning. Video from Conroe, Houston and Galveston showed reduced visibility across the area.

Once the dust is cleared, we will see clear skies and dry conditions throughout the weekend, before a rain event is expected to arrive next week.
