The Rutgers Scarlet Knights lost their second straight game to open the Big Ten Conference game on Saturday, losing to the No. 11 Ohio Buckeyes by a score of 52-13 at SHI Stadium in Piscataway.

The game quickly spiraled out of control as the Scarlet Knights failed to convert a false punt on the first practice, which led to a touchdown in the Buckeyes’ second scrimmage play. This was quickly followed by a pick of six just two games later to bring the score to 14-0 less than four minutes into the game.

Ohio State took a 24-0 lead in the first quarter and extended it to 45-6 at the half-time break before slacking off in the second half.

After opening the season with three straight wins, the Scarlet Knights are now 3-2 on the season with a 0-2 record in the Big Ten Conference game. And they have another ranked opponent for next week as they are set to host the No.17 Michigan State Spartans.
