Perhaps the most difficult aspect of the Matthew Stafford saga has already been solved.
The veteran Detroit quarterback and Lions management have come to a heartbreaking resolution, mutually agreeing that the club will seek a trade that would give Stafford a fresh start elsewhere after 12 seasons.
The No. 1 selection in the team’s 2009 draft suffered too many losses, too many dashed hopes and too many promises of a better future. It is time to move on.
