Pokémon Contents is a mechanic that appears to have been designed for the plugged-in Galar region. Introduced in the original Ruby and sapphire, Pokémon Contents allowed players to focus on something other than difficult battles. By using berries to craft Pokéblocks that affected various aspects of a Pokémon’s personality, players could dress their friends up and show them off to a crowd in exchange for ribbons. Thanks to high-quality costume-making abilities and the abundance of berries from the Wilderness, players could once again let their Pokémon strut the catwalk.

With each generation of Pokémon, new content is pushed to make the new region stand out. By doing this, however, players often lose the potential return of favorite mechanics from previous games. In a third DLC pack for Pokemon Sword and Shield, players could once again see some of their favorite concepts return with updated graphics and all the perks of the latest Pokémon games. While new content and gameplay are needed for games like the Pokemon series, it doesn’t have to be at the expense of the mechanics which were excellent in previous titles, and a third DLC pack with updated older content might be the perfect fit.
