After Princess Diana separated from Prince Charles, she was expected to start remarrying again.

While many believed her latest boyfriend Dodi Fayed was the lucky man, royal biographer Howard Hodgson dismissed the complaint.

Another friend, Roberto Devorik, said Diana called Dodi a “summer romance”.

However, Dodi’s father, Mohamed Al-Fayed, and Diana’s stepmother, Raine Spencer, had a firm belief that the couple would eventually marry.

Raine said during the 2007 Paris car crash investigation that the couple were “highly likely” to be engaged, adding that her stepdaughter felt it was “suddenly the right thing. most wonderful that ever happened to him.

“It is very disrespectful to Diana and Dodi and everyone involved to call their relationship just a summer romance,” Raine said.
