We’re so close now to finally see “Godzilla vs Kong,” the top predator battle royale between King Kong and Godzilla on HBO Max. We know the movie will be released online on Wednesday, March 31, but what time is “ Godzilla vs Kong ” actually releasing on HBO Max?

Conventional wisdom in the age of streaming would suggest that midnight PT, or 3 a.m. ET, is the likely location for this revamped version of “Justice League.” It is, after all, when we get new things on Netflix and Disney +.

But that’s not the case with all streaming services. Hulu, for example, is releasing new episodes of its prime-time shows. And HBO Max is a bit of a wildcard too – they dropped “Wonder Woman 1984” on Christmas morning at 9 am PT.

however, according to HBO Max’s Twitter account, “Godzilla vs Kong” will premiere on the streaming platform at 12:01 am PT / 3:01 am ET.

In his review of the film, writes TheWrap’s Alonso Dulralde, the visual effects are certainly impressive, with Kong and Godzilla both having expressive faces and a sense of scale and majesty. (This could be one of the first movies where Godzilla’s teeth are part of his weaponry.) The performers are doing what they can with the script by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein; Brian Tyree Henry is saddled with moan-worthy one-liners, and Bechir clearly attended the same “How to Play a Slime Ball in Business” classes that Pedro Pascal took before “Wonder Woman 1984”.

With movie theaters in Los Angeles opening at 50% capacity, you can also see the movie on IMAX. “Godzilla vs. Kong” gives Hollywood a reason to hope, as the film launched in 38 countries last weekend before its US release and won a strong opening of $ 121.8 million, including $ 70.3 million in China. With that result, “Godzilla vs Kong” has now won the biggest overseas opening weekend of a Hollywood blockbuster since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
