The third pre-season game of an NFL team each year was considered the "dress rehearsal" of the regular season, a competition in which starters play in the second half.
But with teams always vigilant against injuries, starters play less and less in pre-season.
So it was for the Seahawks on Saturday night in a 23-15 win against the Chargers in Carson, California, since the starters mostly played until the last five minutes of the first half then they called one night.
