5:24 p.m. – What went wrong: After a missed opportunity on a bad pass to Diontae Johnson on a third and a 6, Jordan Berry came off a 61-yard punt, but the Cowboys threw a game of gimmicks on the return. Cedrick Wilson lined up the punt and returned the ball across the field to CJ Goodwin, who returned it for 73 yards. After a penalty on the Cowboys, Dallas got the ball over the Pittsburgh 31-yard line. The Steelers defense held on to force a basket, but Greg Zuerlein hit 44 yards, the Cowboys had a 13-0 lead.
5:15 p.m. – What went wrong: The Cowboys took advantage of the defensive save, and they drove 65 yards in eight games to take a 10-0 lead on a 20-yard pass from Garrett Gilbert to CeeDee Lamb. Gilbert started things off with a 15-yard rush when Henry Mondeaux missed him in the backfield and then scrambled for another 11 yards. On the touchdown TJ Watt was covering Lamb, but when Lamb took the touchdown Watt couldn’t call and there was no one to help him. There was 7.45 in the first half.
5:07 p.m. – What went wrong: The Steelers moved into Cowboys territory, but things got stuck with Anthony McFarland in the backfield. After an 8 yard pass to him, he gained 1 yard on the second down and was stopped without a gain on the third down. On the fourth down, Benny Snell was stopped without a gain when Neville Gallimore descended from his final defensive position to stuff the hole.

4:51 p.m. – What went wrong: The Steelers offense followed the Dallas basket with a three and one out. A screen pass to James Conner lost 4 yards, then a run from Benny Snell lost 2 more. At third and 16, a short pass to Diontae Johnson left the Steelers up against a fourth and 10. Jordan Berry’s 57-yard punt got Dallas to start their second possession at their 21-yard line.
4:46 p.m. – What went wrong: It’s been a long time since Dallas scored a touchdown, more than a few games, but on his opening possession Garrett Gilbert scrolled them 65 yards, then a sack from Alex Highsmith on a third and 10 for the Steelers The 14-yard line forced a 38-yard field goal attempt which Greg Zuerlein converted. Gilbert converted a third and one with a 32-yard completion to Amari Cooper to give the Cowboys an early swing.
4:32 p.m. – What didn’t work: After the Steelers converted the first two-thirds of opening possession, they faced a third and seven from the Dallas 49-yard line on opening possession. Ben Roethlisberger went deep into the right seam for Chase Claypool, and before the ball came in, cornerback Jourdan Lewis pushed Claypool. No penalty called, and the pass was incomplete. After Jordan Berry’s punt, Dallas started their opening possession on the 15-yard line.
