What you need to know about the new character

We're at a day in March and the supposed start of Apex Legends Season 1, and leaks are starting to appear quickly.

The first is the appearance of a fairly legitimate image on the subtitle Apex Legends of the new character – Octane – and it looks very damn interesting.

His name has been on the Apex Legends scene for a while now, after the game was dated shortly after it was released. But now, we seem to have many more concrete details regarding the legend of Season 1, after the user of Reddit Voeno (who leaked the weapon recently added to Havoc) put the picture online.

Octane is a "high-speed daredevil" who seems to use Titanfall's "Stim" as a tactical ability. Called "Adrenaline Junkie", it gives Octane a speed increase of 30% to the detriment of 10% of his health. He will also be temporarily immune to attacks that slow him down, such as the explosion of Arc Star grenade, Caustic's Gas and the air strikes repressed by Bangalore and Gibraltar.

This 10% reduction in his health is also offset by his ability to recover health when he is not under fire. The speed with which this health has returned to him is a mystery, but he is the only character to possess this passive skill. It could be an interesting ride in the current meta of the game and an area to watch. If he has a quick regeneration of his health, expect the community to call him too powerful.

Its ultimate capability is "Launch Pad", which, according to the description, can "catapult users by air". Is it a long jump that can be used by all squad members, or even enemy squadrons? Can this be used with its ability Adrenaline Junkie to cross even greater distances? Is it a portable redeployment platform allowing your team and yourself to slip into skirmishes once they are finished?

It's cool to see that Respawn is still looking for inspiration for Titanfall when it comes to Apex Legends, because allowing more unique ways to navigate the map and approaching combat situations will only make the game more interesting. With Season 1 and the end of the battle in March, we should know if this leak is true or not, in a day.
