Coming this week in Pokémon GO, starting October 4, we have the Secrets of the Jungle event, unleashing Zarude in Pokémon GO for the very first time, as well as Community Duskull Day!
Season 9 GO Battle League
GO Battle League Season 9 will begin on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).
Between September 27 – October 11 the following leagues will be featured:
- Masters League
- Masters League Classic
- Little jungle mug
Season of mischief
When Hoopa summoned Legendary Pokémon on Pokémon GO during Pokémon GO Fest 2021, time and space were warped. Hoopa also brought Pokémon originally discovered in the Galar region to Pokémon GO for the first time! Be sure to follow through the season to see what else might happen! The season of mischief will run from Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Start September 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time, you will be able to access a special research story throughout the season. Throughout the season of mischief, you will have access to different sets of tasks in this special research story. For example, you might meet Confined hoopa by completing a set of tasks that will unlock at the start September 5.
Different Pokémon will appear in the wild! Over the seasons, different Pokémon will appear in different regions of the world!
- Cities: Shuppet, Trubbish, Gothita, and more
- Forests: Teddiursa, Shelmet, Karrablast, and more
- Mountains: Geodude, Rhyhorn, Slugma, and more
- Body of water: Krabby, Horsea, Mantine and more
- Northern hemisphere: Jigglypuff, Slowpoke, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Bidoof, Autumn Form Deerling, and more.
- Southern hemisphere: Clefairy, Roselia, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Tympole, Spring Form Deerling, and more.
Different Pokémon will hatch from eggs! The following Pokémon will be hatching from eggs this season.
- Female Nidoran, Male Nidoran, Barboach, Drifloon and many more will hatch from 2 km Eggs.
- Seel, Pineco, Sableye, Chingling and many more will hatch from 5 km Eggs.
- Audino, Mienfoo and many others will hatch from 10 km Eggs.
- Shieldon, Cranidos, Female Frillish and many more will hatch from 5 km of eggs won thanks to Adventure Sync rewards.
- Riolu, Deino, Noibat and many others will hatch from 10 km of eggs won thanks to Adventure Sync rewards.
Niantic’s birthday
To celebrate Niantic’s birthday on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, log in to Pokémon GO to get a free box between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time that day!
Duskull Community Day
Dusk
Join us on Saturday October 9, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time for a Community Day event featuring Duskull, the Requiem Pokémon! Duskull will appear more frequently in nature. Evolve Dusclops (Duskull’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours after to get a Dusknoir that knows the charged attack shadowball.
Secrets of the Jungle Event
Zarude
Of Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday 10 October 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time, the Secrets of the Jungle promotional event will take place, introducing a new special limited-time research story that will lead to an encounter with the Grass and Dark type Mythical Pokémon Zarude.
Meet Pokémon related to ‘Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle’! Hoothoot, Combee, Drilbur, Cottonee, Dwebble, and others will appear more frequently in nature. If you are lucky you might meet a Larvitar!
Explorer Pikachu will make a return in Pokémon GO, appearing in the wild. If you are lucky you might meet a Brilliant Explorer Pikachu!
Spotlight time
Floating
Tuesday October 5 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time we have Floating as a Featured Pokémon for Spotlight on, as well as 2x XP for Pokémon Evolution.
Raid time
Genesect (Douse)
Wednesday October 6 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local, we have the Mythical Pokémon Genesect holding a Douse Drive featured for Raid Hour. This will be Genesect’s first Pokémon GO! It won’t appear as a Shiny Pokémon at this time..
October Breakthrough Research Meetings
Yamask
From Friday, October 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Monday, November 1, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), you will meet Yamask in the Research Breakthrough encounters. Yamask can be brilliant! Yamask is only seen on Halloween, so make sure you get your weekly breakthrough to catch this elusive Pokemon.

Every Monday in October, a one-time purchase package containing a Ranged Raid Pass and other items will be available in the store for 1 PokéCoin.

Mega Gengar will appear in Mega Raids from Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday 22 October 2021at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Genesect (Douse)
The Mythical Pokémon Genesect holding a Douse Drive will appear in five star raids from Friday 1 October 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday 12 October 2021at 10:00 a.m. local time. This will be Genesect’s first Pokémon GO! It won’t appear as a Shiny Pokémon at this time..
