WhatsApp now lets you join ongoing group calls

[ad_1]

WhatsApp group calls are poised to behave more like Zoom calls and other freer chats. The company has started rolling out the ability to join ongoing group calls, rather than having to be there (and stay) when the call begins. You can go in and out at will as long as you were invited at the start.

There is also a call information screen to show who is participating and who is invited to a chat. Plus, don’t worry if you need to press ‘ignore’ for a call – the door will always be open if you want to connect later.

The addition is recognition that Zoom and other more flexible video chat services are still popular even as the pandemic (hopefully) draws to a close. WhatsApp also recognizes that some people have always had different video chat habits – it might make the service more appealing if you’ve always left a video chat running so your friends can come in when they have a moment.
