If you pay a little attention to the news in the game, you will be hard pressed not to have heard of it. Valheim That much. The new survival game launched in early February and set the PC world on fire. However, if you are someone who mainly plays on consoles, you might be wondering when Valheim could be heading to your platform of choice. Sadly, it doesn’t look like you should expect a release anytime soon.

In a statement to GameSpot, developer Iron Gate AB said there are currently no plans to bring Valheim to consoles. That being said, the studio left the door open a bit by stating that “everything is an option at this point”. So while this is something that could happen in the future, Iron Gate is apparently not looking to make console ports. Valheim in the immediate future.

Still, it’s not as bad as it sounds. Many games that started out as PC exclusives in the past seem to be coming to consoles. And while we can’t definitively say the same will happen with Valheim, history tells us that there is a good chance that this will happen someday.

In the meantime, Iron Gate is probably a lot busier trying to make Valheim works well for players it already has. The early access title has already sold millions of copies on PC, which means Iron Gate surely has a much larger player base than it might have initially expected. As the company continues to move the game closer to its 1.0 iteration, perhaps their position on console ports will start to change.

For the time being, Valheim in its current form, continues to be updated regularly. In fact, one of the more recent updates to the game even made some bosses a little harder.
