LISBON, August 21 – Cristiano Ronaldo told Portuguese television yesterday that "2018 has been the most difficult year on a personal level."
Ronaldo had to face rape charges last year after former model Kathryn Mayorga complained in September, claiming that she had been sexually assaulted by the footballer in 2009 in a room from hotel to Las Vegas.
The case was filed in a Nevada court in June, but the case did not say whether Ronaldo had accepted a settlement.
He denies the accusation, although he allegedly acknowledged having paid Mayorga in a previous settlement.
"When people doubt your honor, it hurts," he said yesterday. "It hurts me a lot, mainly because I have a big family, a woman and a smart child who understands a lot."
