Officials should never have such a negative impact on a game in the Stanley Cup final. And despite the Bruins 'mistakes and missed opportunities leading to the Blues' decisive goal on Thursday night in Boston, it was too obvious to ignore.
The error was not a call, but a non-call. The Stanley Cup version of the NFC Championship game fiasco between the Saints and the Rams. Blues striker Tyler Bozak clearly shows the Bruins' Noel Acciari along the half-boards, unless he turns it around. No call. David Perron made the rounds of two Bruins and the mark by taking the five holes of Tuukka Rask to give the Blues a 2-0 lead, which turned out to be the winner of the match.
It simply should not have happened.
There is no doubt that if the Bruins capitalized on their opportunities earlier in the game, we do not even talk about it. And at the same time, Perron's shot looked like a puck that could be stopped by Rask. Joakim Nordstrom and Torey Krug are more like cones because they were probably as shocked as everyone else.
But we can not forgive the officials for not hissing Bozak on this piece. Perron's goal will remain one of the most controversial in history. That will mark either the moment the Bruins were galvanized on the way to a run of two wins and the Stanley Cup title, the moment the big, hard Blues has completely demoralized a Bruins team frustrated offensively since five games.

"It's a missed call, I think it's a big result in the match, they scored a goal and they end up winning," Acciari said after the match. "It's a little embarrassing.

Head Coach Bruce Cassidy was a little more direct and inflammatory with his comments on how the referee affected the third period.
"Their player is heading to the surface. I mean it's right in front of the official. Cassidy said: it's a raised foot. "Our guy is gone, our observer has taken [Acciari] out of the game for a possible concussion. I mean it's blatant. Big effect in the game … I'm a fan of the game. It's the National Hockey League that gets a black eye when officiating in the playoffs. This is another subject we are going to talk about.
"I thought it was a great hockey game, this call probably – I mean, it takes time, but it was really hard to get the win tonight, so I'm disappointed." I guess to answer your initial question, it was flagrant. " . "
There is a lot to be removed from this game, and the fall of the Bruins certainly was not quite officiating when we looked at it in its entirety. But it's another hateful mistake on the part of officials to miss Acciari's call. If it's not the officials who have a direct impact on the final result of the Cup final, I do not know what it is.
