Where to buy the Xbox Series X is one of the biggest questions this holiday season. And that’s because as soon as the console comes back in stock, it sells out in a rush.
The good news is that Xbox Series X inventory is replenishing in time for the Black Friday deals to begin. Walmart had the Xbox Series X in stock on November 25 at 9 p.m. ET, but it’s temporarily sold out.
Still, it’s worth checking out all the major retailers, as stock can come back at any time.
Where to Buy Xbox Series X: Quick Links and Updates
There’s a good reason Microsoft’s new consoles are flying off the shelves. In our Xbox Series X review, we gave the new system some major props for its blazing performance, fast load times, and full backward compatibility with every generation of Xbox. And as we noted in our Xbox Series S review, the cheaper next-gen Xbox still offers many of the same great features for 1080p TVs.
We’re here to make it easier to find new Xbox consoles. We check all major retailers daily for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S inventory. Check out the latest Xbox Series X stock updates and tips for getting your Xbox Series X below.

November 27 (Black Friday): According to Best Buy’s Black Friday ad, the retailer will be selling the Xbox Series X and Series S in “limited quantities” on November 27, so be prepared to act quickly. Note that Best Buy will usually put you in a queue before you go, so you’ll need to be patient.

Xbox Series X buying tips and resources
Besides updating retailer websites, there are other online channels where you can check when a unit may become available.
On Twitter, we suggest you follow @ Wario64. The handle is known to update users on the latest deals and replenish faster than anyone on the platform.
Slickdeals, the online offer repository, has a forum thread dedicated to ordering an Xbox Series X through Microsoft. The feed is constantly updated, so skip to the last page and click Refresh for the latest information on unit availability.
It’s also not a bad idea to create an account on Slickdeals and set a deal alert for “Xbox Series X”. You will receive an email alert when a new discussion thread is created regarding the replenished stock. But we’ve found that sometimes Slickdeals doesn’t send email to users fast enough. So it would be better to type “Xbox Series X” in the search bar and sort by new. Be prepared to check in several times a day.
CheapAssGamer is a long-standing video game deals website that also has a discussion thread devoted to Xbox Series X. At the time of writing, the discussion thread is over 63 pages long with users discussing the location of the units.
For example, user Titan X noted that the computer manufacturer Lenovo will have Xbox Series X units in stock during Black Friday. Seriously, who would ever think of checking out Lenovo.com for Xbox?
Facebook and Reddit
Facebook can also be a good source of information. There are several Xbox Series X fan groups that keep users up to date with the latest restockings. Do not hesitate to join a few of these groups.
And be sure to subscribe to Xbox Series X subreddit. Of course, most of the page is devoted to chats and memes, but if a user notices a replenishment, they’ll let the community know. For example, this user found Xbox Series X units in stock at their local Walmart, with others also discussing similar findings. Oddly enough, it looks like some Walmart stores are keeping units for sale on Black Friday.
Subscription wholesalers like Costco, Sam’s Club, and BJ’s Wholesale Club are another group of retailers to watch out for. Because it takes a paid account to access these wholesalers, there are often fewer people hopping on top of each other to find a unit. If you don’t have a subscription to one of these retailers, ask a few friends or family.
Unfortunately, wholesalers tend to bundle new consoles with additional games or accessories. So you will have to pay more than the norm of $ 500.
If the units are out of stock online, it may be worth going to a physical location. You must bring your membership card or accompany someone who is a member. And be sure to wear a face mask (on your nose) or the vendors will ask you to leave. If none are available in stores, you can at least go out with a $ 5 roast chicken.
If you’re wondering why everyone’s going crazy about the Xbox Series X, well, that’s because it’s a high-performance video game system that takes you to the next generation. We commended it for its blazing performance and load times in our Xbox Series X review. We were also impressed with Microsoft’s cheaper console in our Xbox Series S review, although you had to live with tradeoffs like 1080p gaming.
