Trying to get a Xbox Series X? You’re not alone. Since November 10, millions of players have been trying to grab one of the consoles, but inventory is nearly impossible to find. Microsoft’s next-gen gaming consoles – the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S – sold out more or less instantly on launch day, then sold out within minutes whenever there was a drop in inventory. at major retailers. . This is obviously due in part to insatiable consumer demand. But there’s no doubt that it also has a lot to do with resellers and bots regularly beat average consumers.

Currently, there is no inventory to be had anywhere despite a handful of inventory drops at stores like Walmart and Best Buy in recent weeks. In the meantime, Twitter remains a resource for many gamers to check on restocking news, but it’s hard to say how credible the tweets are. Recently, for example, the unaffiliated Twitter account @YtNextGenGaming posted that new inventory is said to be dropping at retailers like Best Buy, Costco, Target, Newegg and Walmart. We will follow up if or when we obtain additional information on these or other replenishments.

We’re keeping an eye on Twitter and other news sources, and we’ll keep you posted on what retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, GameStop, and Target are planning. Even so, it’s best to keep our expectations in check: Microsoft confirmed in November that Xbox inventory could be tight until April 2021.

The following is a list of the main retailers selling the Xbox Series X. Our advice is to seek the retail price of $ 500 and avoid those expensive retail bundles (which include superfluous controllers, accessories, and games). Better yet: if you don’t have a 4K TV and you don’t expect to have one anytime soon, try Xbox Series S instead of saving $ 100.

Best Buy was the last retailer to return in the September pre-order days, but now stands ready for your Xbox Series X purchase as inventory allows.

Amazon sells the cheaper Xbox Series X and S Series from this same product page.

GameStop had boasted “very limited number of Xbox Series X and S consoles bundles to buy” but these are currently sold out.

Walmart is doing a solid job noting windows of availability for PS5 and Xbox on its Twitter feed. You can also visit the retailer’s Xbox landing page for the two new consoles.

If you want to get the latest information on the Xbox Series X, there’s probably nothing better than Microsoft’s Xbox Series X home page. Here you’ll find the latest specs, announced game titles, details on the new controller, and more.

This is Target’s product page for the Xbox Series X.

This is where you can buy the Xbox Series X from Newegg when the retailer has inventory.

Are you already desperate? Are you prepared to pay a premium of several hundred dollars over the list price? Look, we wouldn’t do that and neither do we recommend that you do it. But if you want to go that route, StockX is a reputable eBay-style site that will let you buy and sell new Xbox and PS5 models – provided you’re willing to pay more than $ 650.
