Which main character will be the next to leave?

The anatomy of Gray his batch of characters comes and goes throughout the 15 seasons of the series. Fans cried saying goodbye to George O'Malley, Lexi Gray and Mark Sloan. Our heart shattered when Meredith arrested Derek Shepherd. We still hope that Sandra Oh will decide to return to the series and resume her role as Christina Yang.

The ABC heavyweight has done an incredible job in encouraging fans to invest in ever-changing distribution. If only four members of the original cast remain, for many fans, it would be just as overwhelming to see Owen Hunt or Maggie Pierce go away as Dr. Bailey or Richard Webber.

If one wonders if Ellen Pompeo will leave the series, the recent stories worry us about some key characters in the series. Let's see what we think is most in danger of being the next to leave.

Dr. Andrew DeLuca

For four years, fans have wondered if Meredith Gray would ever like it again. After the loss of her husband in 2015, Meredith pushed back the love and focused on her career and her children. But things seemed to be finally starting to change this year.

The season has begun with Dr. Atticus Lincoln (Link) and Dr. DeLuca in search of Meredith's hand. But in the end, Andrew DeLuca won the mother of three children and both have recently started dating. Things are going well between them and Meredith even told her children that she was going out with her handsome doctor.

But things are not going well for Dr. DeLuca. Meredith recently committed an insurance fraud to save a patient and Dr. DeLuca stepped in and took the blame. This leaves his fate in the balance. Meredith confessed that everything was fine, but now they both seem to be imprisoned, at least for a while.

Dr. Jo Karev

Jo has lived many things in recent seasons. She fought against homelessness to become a doctor and marry a violent man. This man followed him to Seattle and threatened to make a living. Jo finally escaped his violent ex when he was hit and killed by a car.

Things are going well between Jo and Alex, which should have been a red flag for anyone who knows how Shonda Rhimes works. As things were going so well, Jo decided to look for her biological mother (although she had been warned not to open Pandora's Box). Things did not finish well.

The doctor returned to Seattle defeated, depressed and angry. She ruled out all around her, including her husband, and went to desperation, even showing herself drunk with work.

It now appears that Dr. Karev is taking at least a break before going to inpatient psychiatry. We hope that Jo can get through this battle, but Jo could end up leaving everything behind.

Dr. Catherine Avery (Fox)

We really do not want to say goodbye to Dr. Fox (formerly Dr. Avery) after the empire she built. Catherine has always been a force in the series and a rock, not only for her staff, but also for her husband and son.

But Catherine is currently fighting for her life while fighting aggressive cancer. She continues to work and has shown improvements over the last few episodes. We hope we can get out of it.

Rhimes is unlikely to let cancer end with Catherine's legacy, but it has also always caused emotional and powerful deaths. If we must say goodbye to this character, we hope at least that Debbie Allen remains faithful and lends his talent as a director to the show from time to time.
