Reggie Fils-Aime, the affable president of Nintendo of America, announced that he would retire in April. The shadow of Son-Love is great – partly because it is just very physically tallBut mostly because he was known to be a friendly character and a public face, not only for Nintendo, but for the entire video game industry.
As a result, his retirement is bittersweet and the industry comes together to let him know that we will miss him. Several industry leaders have come forward to publish congratulations and thanks on Twitter, including its ostensible competitors such as Phil Spencer from Microsoft.
"My best wishes to Reggie Son-Loves for the next stage of his life and career," said Spencer. "Great leader, partner and friend of the industry."
Others thanked him for his contributions, shared endearing stories or wished him good luck. As of April 15, the role of the Nintendo of America president will revert to the current Vice President of Sales, Doug Bowser, who has for the moment never heard of anyone from your joke very creative "Bowser". Son-Aime has also posted a heartwarming message on Twitter.
See below for a sample of the industry's reactions.
Here's a picture of Reggie playing Super Meat Boy on Wii. He said "I'm buying this with my own Wii points, I'm serious, guys". I'm sure he's done with WiiU and Switch. Happy retirement my boyfriend! @ NintendoAmerica pic.twitter.com/O3DaAc0WuY

Enjoy a well deserved rest, my friend. Thank you for everything you did for the game.
I am super jealous. Please sleep and do as little as possible so that I can live vicariously during your retirement. ❤️ https://t.co/vhXMVqGSas– Cory Barlog (@corybarlog) February 21, 2019

Once, I was behind the scenes of an award ceremony about to introduce myself and Reggie looked at me and said, "You seem uncomfortable with it.
J & # 39; was.
I was uncomfortable with it.

Many of you know that I am a big fan of Nintendo (since little ones!). Over the past 15 years, Reggie Fils-Aime has done an excellent job. I am sad to see him retire, but I am also happy that he spends more time with his family. Thank you for the good entertainment. https://t.co/BJaHDdfSdx
